Juxt School House: Leading Lines
Are you following Anna Cox and her Once Screen School house posts? Well, if not why not?!
This week she posted about leading lines which I happen to love! I have a particular passion for finding the leading lines on the floor and especially the ones I can find at my local pier and beach. There is something about getting down low to the ground that enhances the grain of the wood and gives the photo not only a great perspective but also some texture too.
These are a few of my favourite leading lines photos:
This was shot at my local beach and its a tiny dock for little row boats. I love the way the low perspective and the side fences all point to the end and help give the impression its a really long pier/dock when in actual fact, its not at all.
This was shot at one of my favourite Piers at Bournemouth beach in Dorset, U.K. I took this on an early morning before the tourists arrived and got in the shot! Again, the low perspective really helps to make the grain in the wood pop out and the lines give the ‘never ending’ view.

Prettt sure these are the yummiest lines I’ve seen in awhile thanks babe <3
Thanks my lovely! Just happy to take part
Line goodness right here! xo
Thanks B!
I dig those sharp little non-linear white elements (square on the horizon and the screw head). The lines are powerful, but these elements give the viewer a sense of traveling from Point A to Point B, a destination.
and now I am looking at the photo in a whole different light! thanks for that perspective, Nick!
