“I Won’t Bite” : A Showcase of @sxethang

I was unaware of Ginger and the work she posts on Instagram under the moniker @sxethang. The name alone was enough to gain my interest, but as soon as I spotted this image I was hooked. The image has such an organic feel to it, but the saturated colors let the viewer know that things aren’t all that natural. And I don’t believe her for a minute when she says “I won’t bite”.

Ginger:

I think I’ve always been intrigued by vampires. They are a great metaphor on life, slowing sucking you, taking till you feel you have no more to give.   But there is also something alluring about them, something very seductive about the mystery they carry. As in life, we are seduced by our journeys, the unwritten path!

This image is from a series I just started entitled The Vamp Series. I chose this title to be portrayed in a devious manner. Sometimes I think it’s easier for us to believe lies covered in half truths. I think there’s something about those sweet covered words that keep us going back. After all, we are human.
My name is Ginger. I’ve been engaged 15 years, have 2 children. My love of iPhoneart started in May of 2011. After I got my first photo app I found something that I enjoyed doing. Something I would think about at the beginning and end of each day. I was hooked. I first started with Flickr, but my passion didn’t really make it’s presence known until I found iPhoneart and Instagram. The rest is history. I recently had the honor of having 3 of my images in the LA Mobile Arts Festival.
 I find inspiration in everyday life, a cloud here, a leaf there. It’s amazing the beauty you see when you open your eyes in a whole new light. And if I’m able to inspire others with my work, what bigger reward is there…besides money! ;)
